Education
I have the following qualifications 1. PhD in (Neuroscience/ Physiology ) from 2005-2008 2. M.D. - Doctor of Medicine from 2014-2017 3. BSc (Neuroscience) with Honours from 2000-2004 All of these degrees are from Australian Universities where English (university or tertiary level) is mandatory. Following on from my PhD, I have worked as a Post-Doctoral Research fellow (Australian National University, ANU) in Neurophysiology. From 2012 I have worked as an Assistant Professor ad The University of Western Australia (UWA)n where I looked at Transcranial magnetic stimulation and neuro-regeneration. I have published several research papers on my experiments.
Experience
I have been tutoring and teaching university students since 2004. More specifically, LECTURING I have lectured on various topics including, cellular physiology, systems physiology, comparative anatomy, anatomy, electrophysiology. TUTORING/ DEMONSTRATING I have tutored undergraduate and post-graduate courses in physiology, anatomy and medicine at ANU and also at UWA. POST-GRADUATE STUDENTS I have also successfully supervised post-graduate students who have been studying for their Masters and PhD. degrees. MEDICINE EXAMINATIONS I have also helped students with their entrance examinations for medicine in Australia. These examinations include chemistry, physics , biology and medicine at undergraduate level. These examinations are a requirement for entry to medicine My Motivation I am very passionate with helping students with their studies. I tend to adopt a problem based approach in my teaching. and many of my students have responded well to my teaching style. My teaching style For topics that do not have a simple 'correct answer', I do not simply give the answers as nothing much is learnt this way. Rather, we start from simple principles and then work our way up towards a thorough undertanding of the problem or concept at hand. For English writing, we can discuss the ways for correctly structuring essays or research papers. I usually use examples from real work sources and also teach my students on how to best evaluate the information sources. I have helped many students who do not speak English as a first language. I have won awards for my verbal and written English communiation.
